BLACK & LIGHT — FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKS
Welcome to BLACK & LIGHT, my continuing series of black-and-white fine-art photography books.
These books bring together photographs made over several decades using an assortment of vintage 35mm film cameras. By removing the distraction of color, I concentrate on light, shadow, contrast, texture, shape, atmosphere, and the quiet moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
My subjects include landscapes, travel, street photography, abstracts, objects, cameras, cats, architecture, and unexpected observations from everyday life. Together, the books form a personal record of how I have experienced and photographed the world.
BLACK & LIGHT remains an ongoing photographic project. I continue to photograph these core subjects in black and white, creating new material that may become the foundation for future books.
THE SIX-BOOK COLLECTION
The complete BLACK & LIGHT collection currently consists of six books:
Original Standard Edition — 346 pages, 10 × 8-inch landscape format.
Special Edition — 234 pages, oversized 13 × 11-inch landscape format, printed on heavyweight archival paper designed to last for generations.
Volume I — More than 230 pages, 8 × 10-inch portrait format.
Volume II — 84 pages, 8 × 10-inch portrait format.
Volume III — 124 pages, 8 × 10-inch portrait format.
Volume IV — 84 pages, 8 × 10-inch portrait format.
